What to look at in these photos

Anyone can post a picture of a white wall. The bits worth judging a renderer on are the edges: how the finish stops against a window frame, whether the bell cast at the bottom throws water clear of the brickwork, whether the line where render meets stone is dead straight.

Look at the reveals around the openings and the way the render turns a corner. Those are the details that take the time, and they are the first thing to go wrong on a job that was rushed.

Several of these were shot with the scaffold still up because that is when you can actually see the workmanship.
